Urban Skies offer a unique service that is tailored to you. Working closely with our clients we create architectural products for both internal and external projects.

Whilst specialising in architectural metalwork, we also have a wealth of knowledge and experience with a various different materials such as timber, glass, plastics and fabrics.

Our Process

Enquiry & Scoping

The first step in any project is reaching out and discussing your project with the right individual. We can discuss ideas/project requirements and arrange an initial on site consultation FOC to pull together a detailed brief for your project.

Helpful tip: It is important early on to think about your budget, as this is the driving factor behind every project and will play a big factor in determining your brief.

Designing the concept

If the fit is right and you feel that the initial design brief is working for you, we can then provide you with an initial 3D visualisation along with idea boards so we can start to piece together a design that works for you.

When you are happy with the brief, the 3d proposal and rough budget, we will draw you up a fully comprehensive quotation to ensure you are clear on what you are purchasing in terms of product and service.

Important note: If you like the initial ideas presented and want to make changes before we detail up a full quotation and order, we may ask for a small fee to be paid to cover the additional time to re-work 3d concepts. If you then decided to move forward with the design, this small fee would be deducted from your final bill.

The design process

We take an initial 10% design deposit at order stage. We complete full detailed design drawings and begin coordination with any other trades who may be involved within the project. We will issue you design drawings for a final review – we will not begin fabrication until you are fully happy with the design. Once approved, we require the next 40% payment which will allow us to start manufacturer on your product. We will keep you up to date during the fabrication process, and begin the programming in the installation. We will notify you when your product is ready for delivery. Once the next 40% payment has been made, we will arrange a time to deliver that is suited around you.

Installing your product

We will coordinate with you to arrange an installation date that works. Our expert teams of fitters are managed by your Urban Skies Designer who has been working with you throughout the entire project. They will be your point of contact and can answer any questions you have. We will inspect installation throughout and keep you up to speed with regular updates on progress. When the system is fully installed, your designer will review everything in detail before signing the system off and handing the finished project over to you for your final inspection. When you are fully satisfied, we will then ask for the final 10% payment to be made.

Enjoying your Urban Skies Product

Enjoying you Urban Skies Product – we provide full operation and maintenance manuals for all our products which will have details on cleaning schedules, warrantee’s, detailed drawings and other technical information you may require in the future.

We offer an aftercare service and can return on an annual basis to inspect, clean or replace any damaged element to keep your product looking sharp and crisp over the proceeding years.

Sustainability & Recycling

Using our initiative, resource and design driven culture, we can work with clients to achieve solutions by using either recycled material, off cut material or over runs to fully optimise a materials potential. We hate waste at Urban Skies and if we can utilise material from one project to solve another for a separate client we will always explore.

With our manufacturing facility being in the South East of England we fabricate 90% of our products in house. We are proud to hold the Made in Britain tag and are passionate about growing and building a strong reputation for the UK design and manufacturing sectors.
